How do we compare to our competition
Unfortunately, in Greece the software industry is totally unregulated. What this practically means is that dubious businesses and individuals can make money by selling questionable products and services without being held accountable for the consequences. The use of confusing internet jargon to a computer illiterate audience, adds insult to injury. Before you make any decisions you should take into careful consideration:
- The construction of an online store is an investment, not an expense for business. Therefore, the evaluation of a proposal should be based on Return on Investment terms, and not on the initial construction cost.
- The successful operation of an online store requires continuous support. The proposals you will evaluate should include the operating costs and what it is covered (eg, hosting, technical support, information store, product promotion, customer support, reporting, traffic, etc.). Also, if you have physical store and you want some connection between the online and physical store so that the stock is properly updated on both ends, check if the proposal covers this requirement.
- The quality of the e-shop construction. Even if it is hard to evaluate with a simple visit to the website, it is very important. Make sure that the person or the team who will build the online store has the necessary professional experience and education (IT/Software Engineering). Remember that apart from the aesthetic result (for which graphic designers can do an excellent job) there is enough software development and tuning that needs to be done correctly. Otherwise the risk of suffering from lost orders, incorrect billing and payments, data loss from malicious attacks by third parties (hackers or competitors) is very high.
Extra fees
If your needs and requirements exceed one of our pre-built solutions, you can request extra services at an additional cost that can be calculated using the following fees:
Software consultation services- 25€/hour for consultation in our offices
- 35€/hour for out-of-office consultation
- For out-of-town trips, a special residence and transportation fee will apply.
If your online stock is over 100 products, then:
- If the products' description and images are available in electronic form, then no additional fee is applicable regardless of their number
- If we have to add the products manually (scan pictures, typewrite text descriptions, etc) then the actual cost will be specified after a thorough workload analysis.
For the translation of content (text/images) to Greek or any other language, the following fees will apply:
- If you have the text (products description) in electronic form, no extra fees will be added, but the fee of internationalization/localization.
- If we have to make the translation, the cost is between 5 and 9 cents/word, depending on the complexity of terminology and the target language.
Payment methods and consulting agreement
For small projects the cost is prepaid. For bigger projects, we can sign a consulting agreement that clarifies all issues that might arise (hourly compensation rate, disclosure of confidential information, proprietary rights, liabilities and other provisions).
